Hi, you have reached Doug Grant's web site.

I was a Democratic candidate for the NH House in the election of November 3, 2004. I lost badly, as all Democrats in Littleton NH have since time immemorial, but I did get more votes than Granny D.

My wife and I moved to Littleton NH a year ago after 10 years in Manchester NH near the millyard. I have “retired” but still consider myself a technology consultant. I also occupy myself with:

Broadband Advocacy in the North Country

New Interest:  the school system and technology.

After all, this is our major public expense and we should all be concerned. I am trying to understand part of the government requirements called the NH Department of Education’s Technology Literacy Assessment program.
Also, I have written a paper with Gil Vickery in which we try to establish a community-oriented model for schools and technology. This paper is still under development and we welcome input.

NH/VT District of the Unitarian-Universalism Religion.

The Social Action committee is working on a program for non-partisan voter registration that is also sponsored by the UUSC.

Chess

I am still a Master (#4 on this NH list) although I usually just play on the Internet (FICS)

Information Technology

I try to remain up-to-date so that I can evaluate proposed technologies. Currently I am working on utility programs using the LDIF and LDAP protocols.

Browser

I use Mozilla 1.7.5 (for email too).

Network

Here at home I have both wired (10/100 mbps) and wireless (80211b/g) networks in a lan, a high-speed cable connection to the Internet, VOIP (Vonage), and multiple computers: 1 Linux box, 1 Mac OS X box, 3-4 PCs (Windows XP and Windows 2000).
